Most peculiar. An obvious case of police malfeasance (or at the very least
incompetence) is somehow used as evidence that a) the entire concept of
professional policing is best tossed down the sink or, b) one of the
cleanest and most efficient police forces on earth (the British) is not
only bloodthirsty but thoroughly corrupt as well.
Well, I'd like to ask anyone who has a grievance against the idea of
professionnal policing what their solution is to the problem that -
unfortunately - human beings do not always behave themselves. And in
asking this question I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a viable,
proven alternative; not an ideology-based supposition.
And as to pint b), if the police forces of the United Kingdom are so
inadequate, would you be so kind as to name a few better ones?
Those who criticize with neither suggestion of rectification or viable
alternatives are merely ranters, and are to be treated as such.
