Actually birdshot in the face is an excellent SD tactic at close
range. The part about the 32 revolver is what has me baffled.

I would rather not kill someone if I didn't absolutely have to. Funny
how you don't seem to understand that concept.

Oh, I understand it, but the difference between us is that I'm not willing to risk losing my life trying to avoid it. If I have to act in lethal self defense (as the scenario in question is) then I'm going all out, because once my life is in direct and immediate danger, it's time to end the fight in my favor as quickly as possible and if that means my attacker is facing increased risk of death....well, maybe he shouldn't have attacked me.

I will simply note you would rather die that fight "unfairly".
