HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. Police said a 90-year-old man in
Sumner County put up a fight after three women attempted
to rob him Monday.

The incident occurred outside the Verizon store on Indian
Lake Boulevard just before noon.

Hendersonville police said three women followed the
elderly man to t
he
store and held him up with a gun when he got out of his
car.

The man knocked the weapon out of one of the robbers
hands, grabbed it and ran into the store.

Several people saw the incident and were able to give
police a detailed report of the robbers and their car.

Excuse me, but the three women (the bad guys) were the ones
who had th
e
gun. The old man (the good guy) ended up with it. So why are
you tryin
g
to use this as a case of an old person having a gun to
defend themselv
es?
He got their gun and went into the store. He didn't use the
gun.

I think you missed the point, mon ami.

He didn't need a gun.

Matt

On this occasion. So?

No real "so" involved. Quite often, I read here that if you are
facing an armed
opponent and have no gun, you are a victim. Simply a counter
example.

Not to mention, seriously, how can you not be impressed by the
guy?

I am, but perhaps the women were from the old folks' home
themselves.
I
don't know and the article doesn't say.  ;)

It actually does, I just didn't repost the entire article for
copyright reasons.

Hmmmm, you can post that type of article as long as you give proper
attribution for it.

You can, but if you only select a small portion of it, you needn't
worry, Fair Use
takes care of you.

I don't worry anyway, as I usually post the cite along with it. That
takes of it, also, plus I don't get bugged by everyone for a cite.

A bit later on in the article it says:

Three women from Nashville were later arrested in the case and
identified as Veosha D. Thaxton and Demetria Sharnese Crump, both
19, and 20-year-old Jameesia Shawae McGlothen

Them 90 year olds are DANGEROUS, I tell ya :)

I guess so........damn, another 18 years to go.

Hm. Remind me not to be in your neck of the woods in 18 years. Of
course, being a good Jewish boy, I'll retire to Florida.

You have to claim that you are from NY or NJ and act like you have never
driven before.

I AM from NY. Sadly, living in Colorado, I can't claim I've never
driven before.
Maybe I can fake it, I take the bus most of the time anyway. All these
rules,
who knew?
