the previous "Fairness Doctrine" had a chilling effect on political
discourse on TV and radio. Rather than give "equal time" to opposing
viewpoints,networks instead chose to not have any discourse at all.
But the leftist bias still remained(remainS!),news reports were and ARE
filtered through the leftist viewpoints of the reporters/news managers.
important,revealing stuff gets omitted,minimized,or distorted.
even now,you see "discussion panels" that are heavily tilted towards the
left,for example,they'll have a skewed ratio of leftists to conservatives.
Also,now we're seeing online posters who allege to be conservative,but
overwhelmingly support the left view. Plants,perhaps even paid to post
leftist nonsense on conservative sites. Just like the infiltrator folk who
carry racist signs at conservative rallies,to give the MSM something to
demonize the rally and conservative message.
