Boycott United Parcel

I applied with United Parcel Service and was hired as a temporary
employee. During the orientation we reviewed the policy manual. In
the manual, it stated that it was company policy that no person could
carry a weapon at any time on UPS property or in a company vehicle
including CCW. There were no signs posted on premises, but the next
page did have the regulation sign as a page in the policy manual. I
asked why it was in the manual and they said that it was required by
their insurance. I turned around and walked out as I am a CCW.
My question is, is that legal? Can it be enforced if it's not posted
at the entrance to the business as required? It seems dishonest to
me.
