ALL corporate spending..
the news networks are all corporations.
Does Carrier plan on prohibiting THEM from spending on coverage for or
against politicians? The MSM was "in the tank" for Obama on the last
election.Obama would never had been elected if the MSM had dug into
Obama's past like they did for Sarah Palin.(AND her children...)
It's called selective reporting;you report only the favorable stuff
and omit or downplay the negative stuff, the deal-killers.
BTW,Citizens United, the corporation in the recent SCOTUS
ruling, doesn't sell any product;they are strictly an advocacy group.
As I've posted before,the case before SCOTUS,Citizens United v FEC,was
about CU not being able to air a MOVIE they made (about Hillary)
during the 60 day period before the election. That is a FREE SPEECH
violation. The case was NOT about corporate campaign FINANCE,and had
no effect on it.
Actually, yes it was. Citizens United wanted to take funds from their
treasury to promote and spread the film.... Since those were not PAC
funds but a direct corporate contribution, within the 60 period of
McCain-Feingold, that is where the problem arose.
It was about corporate ADVERTISING;a free speech
issue, and SCOTUS correctly ruled that corporations have the right to
free speech,no different than any other group or individual.
Yep, however it was also unions and advocacy groups like the NRA in
addition to corporations.
Oh,and the lawyer representing the FEC claimed that McCain-Feingold
gave them the power to BAN BOOKS in the same manner.
(that probably cinched the ruling.)
That's silly.
So long as Congress has the power to grant favors by way of
legislation, there will be people who will find a way to funnel
money, power or other things corrupt politicians want in order to
obtain those favors.

Some points to ponder:
Why is it good if a vacuum cleaner really sucks?
Why is the third hand on a clock called the "second hand"?
Why did Kamikaze pilots wear helmets?
Why do we sing "Take me out to the ballgame" when we are already
there?
