Let's say that someone sees your gun as you take off a jacket or
whatever, and that person flips out because the restaurant has "no
guns" posted.

Don't know the Tenn code, but the local sheriff here in CA makes a
point of informing CCW holders that he doesn't want to get such
incidents coming across his desk. So here, you "may" lose your CCW,
even though no charge is filed.

Don't like it...but that's the way it is in some places.

I'd say I don't need to patronize establishments that discriminate..

I agree. If I go to the Outback for lunch and it is posted, I will
politely ask to see a manager. I will let him know that as long as his
establishment is posted, I will do no business there and neither will
anyone else that I know. It is his choice, I will simply let him know
mine. Key is to be polite while doing it.

That is right. Be polite. If he does not desire your custom, let
him be up front about him.
Worse thing in the world is discovering after I've paid that the
owner is a bigot.
