Outback Restaurants here in Tennessee have posted NO GUNS signs,
which by state law means no licensed CCW inside the restaurant.

I wrote to them about it, and received a reply saying that it is
"company policy" and basically that they don't care if CCW
holders don't like it.

"We are not disrespectful of the rights of gun owners, we merely
want all of our guests to feel welcomed and safe, and frankly
see no need for guns to be brought into restaurants."

So, I guess, having only the law-abiding disarmed is "safe."
Personally, I don't feel at all "welcomed."

If I'm carrying concealed, how will they know I have my gun?

They probably won't. However, if it comes to the attention of the
issuing authority, you may lose the CCW.

How will it come to the attention of the issuing authority ?
Sounds like another of those "Be Afraid, Be VERY Afraid" rants
that
have little basis in reality.

In most places, they will ask you to leave.
If you don't, at worse it's trespassing
I sure would like to see the Tennessee Code that says, that a minor
trespassing offense can lose you your CCW.

Let's say that someone sees your gun as you take off a jacket or
whatever, and that person flips out because the restaurant has "no
guns" posted.

Don't know the Tenn code, but the local sheriff here in CA makes a
point of informing CCW holders that he doesn't want to get such
incidents coming across his desk. So here, you "may" lose your CCW,
even though no charge is filed.

Don't like it...but that's the way it is in some places.

I'd say I don't need to patronize establishments that discriminate..

I agree. If I go to the Outback for lunch and it is posted, I will
politely ask to see a manager. I will let him know that as long as
his establishment is posted, I will do no business there and neither
will anyone else that I know. It is his choice, I will simply let
him know mine. Key is to be polite while doing it.

Yep. Something similar happened at a local buger joint. Seems they were
robbed and to protect themselves from being robbed again, posted a sign
against having guns. After a number of people politely expressed their joy
that the company was doing so well that they could afford to turn away
customers, the sign came down. Only took about a week as the decline in
sales was sharp and significant.
