Gee...it's just as I said it was from day one.

How did I know? First..it was all white. Second..the speakers
were all more concerned with "socialism" (which they don't know
a damn thing about other than what they've been told on AM talk
radio) than health care.

We are the only industrialized nation without some form of
universal health care. Whether you like it or not it's going to
happen. There's not a damn thing you can do about it. You need
to learn to fight the fights you can win.

The Democrats might want to take that advice. They can turn
health insurance companies into public utilities if they want and
get some Republican support in the bargain. There is more than
one way to skin a cat. All this hoo rah over "socialized
medicine" is a smoke screen for what they really fear which is
regulation, which is, of course what is really needed. Sensible
regulation, of course, but that is probably too much to hope for.

There are some very important and needed reforms in that bill
that are in danger of going down the tubes if they can't find a
way to work out a compromise. Obama better find a way to look
like a leader, and fast.

Bill Smith
Agreed. We need and will have universal health care eventually.
Not if I can help it. Universal health care is the worst thing
that can happen. Socialism and communism are the tools that
destroy nations.

I pay for my own health care, why can't you?

It WILL happen whether you like it or not because it's the best
solution. EVERY industrialized nation BUT us has figured that out.

It's the 20% who DON'T have it that cost the most. Haven't you been
reading anything about this the past 3 months?

You didn't answer my question.

Your question is off topic.

No, it isn't.
