North Carolina, leaving piles of materials abandoned alongside half-
done condos. A friend who's a concrete contractor says his crew's now
working 3-4 days weekly - down from the usual 6. Homes aren't
selling, either; "for sale or rent" signs are common even in nice
neighborhoods in this area - including one on my block.
