PIERRE, S.D. (AP) A House committee says public universities in
South Dakota should be able to restrict firearms on their
campuses.

The House education Committee voted 11-3 to kill HB1257, which
would have prohibited public universities from making any
restrictions on possession of firearms on campus. It's the second
time in the 2009 session that such a bill has died. The Senate
killed a similar measure earlier.

Well that really sets my mind at ease. There won't be any more
campus shootings because it won't be allowed. I feel much safer now
and I'll bet those students and their parents do too.

The point is that schools decide for themselves - neither you nor the
NRfuckinA decide for them.

Funny, I thought the safety of the students was the important point
of all this.

People who might qualify for a CCL don't carry on campus now because
it is against the law/regulations. Why would people who obey the law
now suddenly become lawless if they carried on campus?

already have a superb record of safety and lawfulness,and would be NO
different on campus.
