Revised Laws of LouisianaLee, have you been in a drunken stupor for over 50 years?

Edition 1870) as
amended by acts of the Legislature, from the session of
1870 to that of
1896 inclusive; and all other acts of a general nature for
the same
period. All annotated with the decisions of the Supreme
Court of
Louisiana contained in Annuals 39 to 48 and a part of 49.
Compiled and annotated by Solomon Wolff, of the New
Orleans Bar.
New Orleans: F. F. Hansel & Bro. 1897.
CRIMES AND OFFENSES
238
[begin section]
Sec. 915
CONCEALED WEAPONS.- When any officer has good reason to
believe that any
person has weapons concealed about him, on proof thereof
being made to
any justice of the peace, by the oath of one or more
credible witnesses,
it shall be the duty of such justice of the peace to issue
a warrant
against such offender, and have him searched, and, should
be be found
with such weapons, to bind him over to keep the peace of
the State, with
such security as may appear necessary, for one year; and
on his failing
to give good and sufficient security, he shall commit such
offender to
prison for any time not exceeding twenty days. He shall
also be bound to
appear before the district court to answer the charge.
[end section]
CCW not tolerated in 19th Century Louisiana...
POINT PROVEN!

This is the 21st century. BTW, the NRA won its suit against
the confiscation of private arms after Katrina. Too bad the
state and the city of New Orleans cannot be forced to pay
for or replace the PRIVATE weapons that they illegally
seized and improperly stored, allowing them to rust and rot
away.
