**Untrue. Having said that, we are discussing two different things.
Climate prediction is not weather prediction.
You are correct about the above (climate vs. weather) and WRONG
about the following (predictions have been dire many times, in both
directions, during the 20th Century.)
In the early 70's they also claimed we'd be in an ice age by now due to
global cooling.....
**Nope. You keep hanging onto that myth though. Global warming was being
discussed by serious climatologists back in the 1970s.
