DES MOINES, Iowa, March 29 (UPI) -- A pizza deliveryman in Des Moines, Iowa, shot and wounded a man who tried to rob him, police said. The 19-year-old suspect, Kenneth Jimmerson, was arrested Thursday night when he called for an ambulance, The Des Moines Register reported.
** James Spiers, the deliveryman, was suspended by his employer, Pizza Hut. **
"We have a policy against carrying weapons," said Vonnie Walbert, vice president of human resources for Pizza Hut, which has its headquarters in Dallas. "We prohibit employees from carrying guns because we believe that that is the safest for everybody."
For every thief,maybe.
Besides, if I get a Pizza, I prefer the establishment near me, as Pizza Hut's (and Domino's)products taste like burnt rust with stale cheese.
Therefore, I perform my own deliveries.
