The subject raised by the OP and being discussed was overdoses. Try to
stay on topic. (But like you, I also think the analogy the OP tried to
make was stupid.)




ILLEGAL drugs are of UNKNOWN quality and purity.
You do not know precisely what's in them or how much of the active drug.
THAT is why some users OD.
Also,they take more than one type of drug at the same time,having unknown
drug interactions.
LEGAL drugs have quality control,accurate dosages,interactions are
documented.ODs in those cases are ususaly use of more than one drug.[or
with alcohol]

But,after all is said and done,a person who ODs is only doing it to
themself,and not affecting others. It's their own choice.
It's like suicide;*not relevant* to criminal violence that affects much
more than just the users/dealers.
