True, but the product sold is the same. You know that. If (and that's a big
**IF**) you agree that their should be background checks at gun stores, to
snag the occasional criminal or mentally ill wannabe campus shooter, than
logically, you have no choice but to agree that the same rules should apply
at gun shows.
As if the so-called "background check" "snags" anybody except those
with erroneous data in the files. I don't see any prosecutions for any
of these "snags".
If you do NOT agree with this idea, when why agree to background checks at
gun shops?
Joe, you know damn well what "we" do not agree with! And that is the
compilation of a list of all gun owners. The NICs "check" is really
nothing more than a huge (illegal) gun owner registration scheme and
you love that! If one wanted to create a "background check" (nothing
like a little "prove you are innocent" to exercise a right...Oh wait
I've got it how about a literacy test for voting and Spanish is NOT
allowed!) there are ways to do it without gathering the name and data
on every gun buyer! But nobody wanted to hear about that. The bottom
line is that all freedom loving Americans do NOT agree to background
checks at gun shops. It was forced down our throats!
And this, of course is EXACTLY what all you lefties are about. You
want the "gun show loophole" as you like to call it, closed. Even
better you want ALL gun shows closed. More guns "off the street" as
you term it. That means out of the hands of law abiding citizens and
into the hands of sworn government men. What sticks in your craw is
guns changing hands at gun shows (even though the vast majority of gun
sales are through licensed dealers and are therefore registered with
those in power) without any records that can eventually end up in the
gun owner databases.
It's pretty simple, is it not, Joe? EACH firearm that slips through
the government registration net is a gun that the resistance can use
to kill the likes of you and yours "come the revolution" or as you
like to say "when the time comes" to disarm the nation. That is what
has you shitting you pants. Thus even ONE gun unregistered is a gun
that could eventually be used on you and your family. You doubtless
remember when Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto held off the Nazi Army for
months with just a few rusty handguns. You are SO transparent!
So let me ask, Joe: Do you really think the USSR was truly the "envy
of the world"? Do you really hate the freedom that the American ideal
stands for that much?
