The gun-grabbers say that guns only lead to violence. It's far better
to just dial 911 and let the professionals handle it.  Oh wait. Here's
a guy who followed the advice.  Be sure to tell his estate how he did
the right thing.  As for me, I remove the threat first and THEN dial
911.

"Gun Control" = you have no right to own a gun, but you are allowed to
get shot.

Man Hospitalized After Being Shot In Head
Jan 25 2008 8:09AM

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Police said that they were searching for the people
who broke into a southeast side apartment early Friday and shot a man.

According to police, the man who lives at the Buckridge Way apartment
arrived home at about 2 a.m. and discovered burglars inside.  As he
tried to phone for help, one of the intruders shot the man in the
head, police said.

The man, whose name was not immediately released, was taken to a
hospital in critical condition, 10TV News reported.

Police did not name any suspects.

The fool. Doesn't he know that proper procedure is to RUN AWAY, then
call 911?

Sarcasm is lost on Usenet, you know.

As a side note, however, for each of these, I'm quite sure we can find
a dozen
cases in the opposite direction. Say, a gun taken away and used
against the
homeowner, or a shootout in which the homeowner dies. Should we decide
policy
based on random examples?

I'll bet, actually, that you can't. But I'd love it if you gave it a
try.
