I would bet that if I blew someone away in a recognized defense of my wife, I wouldn't be the one who lost. That would be a case where violence solved an situation.

It'd be a case where genuine defense solved a situation, one where you didn't whimsically decide to initiate a violent conflict with another.

No comparison with the illegal invasion and attempted occupation of Iraq at all.
