Officers "believe" she missed the pickup truck? First hint of a
bull*** story here. How hard is it to look at a pickup truck and
see if it has any bullet holes in it?
Like most other CCW permitees with no combat training, she missed a
whole pickup with its radial tires almost kissing her tailgate.
Please list CCW licensing programs that offer combat training.
Go *** yourself. Funnelhead went through one.
Another lie concocted by the Shame of Tulia, TX.
I have never claimed such. Eight hours range time is hardly combat
training.
You said you were trained by this well-known instructor and I thought
combat training was part of that. If not, then you're even less
qualified to carry a gun secretly than I thought.
The eight hours was twice the state minimum however. I scored
86% on a stationary silhouette target with a borrowed revolver the
first time I've fired a gun in about 35 years.
Just 86 huh? This Funnelhead should have his secret gun permit revoked
immediately!
The state only requires 60%, numbnuts.
Oh yeah, Tennessee.
We were taught defensive
shooting, not marksmanship. I was using a 3" Ruger GP100, not my 2 1/4"
Ruger SP101.
Mine's 9 inches.
The drill was start with the handgun in the holster, the
instructor calling "Draw!" and the number to be fired. (1 to 5). The
stance was not the traditional target shooter stance, or even the FBI
crouch. Instead we turned sideways to the target, held the firearm
against the shoulder with two hands and sighted down the barrel toward
the target and fired as quickly as possible.
You'd set yourself on fire with the Walker. You don't mind if I just point
it at what I want to hit, eh slick?
The unusual grip is a
retention grip in case someone tries to take the weapon away (really
quick attacker or accomplace).
If the guy got far enough to grab the gun barrel of my Walker he'd let go
pretty fast when another lead ball blew his arm off.
Then we would reload and reholster and
we would move back and go through the drill again. There was always a
time limit and a critique between firings. At the end we policed the
area, retrreiving the spent shells.
Doesn't sound very combative.
Unless the target was 100 yards away I'm sure I could score 99% with my
Colt's Walker .44 revolver and I'll be happy to prove it when I get a
can of Triple Se7en and find the shooting range.
Under the stated conditions, I seriously doubt it. First of all, you
couldn't reload the Walker quickly enough,
I can buy extra cylinders for about $65. You load them ahead of time,
change cylinders and shoot. They used to do that in the Civil War. Carry
numerous pistols when possible, carry extra cylinders probably captured off
dead enemy.
it's not all that accurate
even with the long barrel, and that black powder would blind you between
shots.
The Walker's muzzle velocity is comparable to your .357, and its muzzle
energy is a little more. And if you get good lead balls you can hit a
penny at 100 yards. Also, they have this new "propellant" now, you can't
get blackpowder and I guess it did explode without permission on me a few
times - I refused to grease my chambers and enjoyed a few cross-fires.
Those old thumb-busters are difficult to fire quickly without
fanning and fanning destroys accuracy.
Horse***. Hit what you aim at and you don't need a double-action or a
semi-auto. I don't mean for war combat, but for fighting some thug who's
shooting wildly. I'd hope I could hide behind something substantial and
fire carefully.
Then there's the problem horse
pistol from a holster. Naw, Lee, you'd do good to complete the required
number of shots in the time allotted and those Walker's are bears to
reload.
I bought an awl & intend to craft a holster for the Walker. & I'll make a
lanyard so I don't lose it, that's not for combat I just tend to lose
things easily.
And I'll need to
get good lead balls, not the cast kind I now have. And I'll need a
holster
so I can draw my pistol and shoot from the hip, like I'm used to doing.
Can't hit anything if I stand still...
Yeah, you do that, cowboy. If there's a protracted firefight, I'm
finding cover ASAP.
I don't plan to miss the first time. Of course the reason I chose the
Walker was because the double-barrel 10 guage was on back-order and cost
twice as much, and seeing as how Mr. Blecchh kindly donated the funds just
to see me shrink away from a gun I'd wanted from the first time I saw a
line drawing of it in some Shooter's Bible that was out of date in the 70s.
I talked to a muzzleloading expert who said cap & ball pistols shouldn't be
used for home or self defense. If they'd known that in 1860 much of the
carnage of the Civil War might have been avoided.
I might miss 1% if I start laughing thinking about how I out-shot a
gunloon with an old muzzle-loader having not shot one since I was a
teenager.
You'll miss 40% while crying.
I haven't even shot this pistol yet and I know I can hit with it. Maybe
not a penny at 100 yards, but if I can practice a little I know I can hit
with that heavy frame and long barrel.
So your's is just 2 1/4 inches, eh Funnelhead?
Laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh.
