Unless, of course, you bury pieces of rebar (cheap concrete
reinforcement rod, readily available at all big-box hardware stores)
all over the same area! Very easy and inexpensive.


Used car parts would also do the job. However, if you bury then 5' deep,
metal detectors are no good. As for dogs - dusting the entire area with
black pepper does that in.
