exactly that.
Hear, hear. After all these years, the man looks ridiculous waving his
piece of paper, proclaiming "Peace in our time."
I saw the newsreel, in those times, of him doing just that coming of
that airplane that flew him back to Blighty.
I heard adults in the audience boo around me.
And we weren't all that quick to stick a toe in the water, battlewise.
True, but that's just us. It took a Pearl harbor to chang things, and the
Japanese paid a terrible price for attacking us. Sixty years later, with
even more dead than at Pearl Harbor, it appears we'd rather turn the other
cheek than fight for our survival.
There is always the Darwin solution.
If we aren't willing to act vigorously to protect ourselves when
attacked then possibly it's time for us to go.
Such a great nation, too.
What happened?
Liberal socialism?
Yep. They were like a cancer that developed first in our education
system, then metastasized. It spread into our media and without
education doing its job there was a generation that lacked the skills
to reject the illogic of the dogma. At the same time, we became fat
and lazy with our own success. The masses heard the cheer of, "Let the
government do it!" and they bought it hook, line, and sinker. Our
lives are too busy to be bothered, and that is what we pay taxes for
anyway.
The politicians, of course, were eager to seize more power and be more
responsible (without being held responsible of course--again, the
education system did its job well--no civics for folks to fall back
on. Hell, I am not sure that anyone in High School--teachers or
students--could tell you anything about our Constitution).
Today we stand on the brink! We have the Hildabeast waiting in the
wings liking it's chops with thinking, "Marxism will work, we just
need someone as bright as I to do it right!" We are on the verge of
having more than 50% of the voters not paying income tax (once we
cross that Rubicon, there is no reason to rein in politicos), we have
a government of one party that has two heads. The world (France,
Germany, Russia, China) sense they have an ally in the Left in this
country. They want the US knocked down to their level, and the libs
want the US destroyed globally. Like sharks that smell blood, Al Queda
took the first nip and opened the skin, now the water is red and foamy
and all save Great Britain (that god for the Brits, we own them more
that they will ever know) see this an opportunity to knock us down a
few notches. It does not look good.
But there is still hope. Al Queda is un-relenting. And eventually,
ever the dumbest lib has to understand that our culture is at stake
here (though they are dumber than a sack of rocks, one hopes they can
see the light before it is just another train coming down the tunnel).
The giant is asleep, but I hope she can awake. We have a new
generation that has a sizable amount of folks that can see the damage
done by their parents socialist greed, we can hope they are enough.
The old hold on propaganda by the old liberal media is gone (just ask
Dan Rather), so more truth is getting to the people (again, it is the
younger folks that know and understand this new media). There is hope.
But the world piles on. Now China is poking us (through North Korea)
to see if the ol boy still has any fight left.
