Re: Harold Fish Murder Trial Begins This Week

Damn, you're a stubborn little and ignorant gunhugger. You aren't
aware of all of the research that shows that it takes a huge amount of
training to get military people to actually fire their guns when faced
with mortal combat?

That all changes damn quick in a frontal assault with the enemy on top of you.

That's the case with violent confrontations upon citizens.

Been there, done that.

Of course you're not, you just read the gunhugger propoganda that
doesn't tell you the truth.

While I do take time to educate myself, I rely heavily on personal experience. Both in combat and in civilian confrontations I've had.

Ayoob is honest enough to tell people that most people aren't able to
pull the trigger when confronted with the decision.

Well, here we go again. That is not quite all of what he says.

You're also a poorly trained gunhugger if you are going to allow pure
emotion to determine whether or not you pull the trigger.

You misunderstand. Fear is the final motivation. Whether or not I pull will be determined by my careful assessment, if I have time, of the circumstances. But I will have made the decision and fear will be the final motivator.

Don't presume I mean "panic."

I am very cold and calculating, quite calm and steady, and very alert when confronted with life threatening danger.

I know this because I've had to face it a few times. Got me out of some very bad situations. And not all with humans either.

Fear is a bad
emotion to use for determining that decision.

Nope. It is basic and good. If we had NO fear the human race would have been gone long ago.

> Fear is a flight emotion,

You seem to cut things to your size, rather than leave them entire.

It goes, 'flight or FIGHT," remember.

And many a time I've chosen flight were I could do so with less risk, by my estimation. Again, determined by fear. I am not the least bothered to admit to 'fear,' as I know it to be life saving and a good thing and it calms me down wonderfully.

You are translating it into "panic."

Panic is simply something I do not do. Been that way since I was a little tyke.

shooting someone requires that you stand your ground.

It's "flight or FIGHT," sonny.

Either one can save your life, and balls has very little to do with it. Ask women that have had to fight for their lives, some with guns, and they pulled the trigger with no balls at all.

Possibly you would want to try the insult, "it takes ovaries" to pull a trigger on them.

As for the Bush Administration, it hasn't gone after gun rights yet.

ON the contrary. It has moved in the other direction. Not just this administration at the exec level, but our legislature as well.

I wake smiling every morning thinking about that.

Give it enough time, it will get around to it. You're just not smart
enough to realize it.

You've demonstrated your wisdom.

I'll take it under advisement.

I'm sure Pluto the Dog would have more intelligent input to offer though. I'll get back to you after I check with him.

Walt wouldn't mind.
