Your opinion is as valueless as you value ours.
all
the letters, telegrams and phone calls telling them they'd better NOt
vote
for Bill Clinton's "Assault Weapons Ban". Bill Clinton told Them it was
just
the NRA acting up. The overwhelming majority of Americans supported "gun
control". A few months later, Bill Clinton was in the House, giving his
State of the Union Address, in which he acknowledged that many members,
senate and house, who had voted for the AWB had not been re-elected -
including the Speaker of the House. The AWB had cost the Democrats
control
of congress for the first time in decades.
THAT is what influences elected representatives - not the ramblings of a
fucktard troll named Homespun, Inc..
Again, I'm not going to participate in your name-calling. Calling you
a name-- while possibly gratifying on some ephemeral personal level--
doesn't actually do anything to reduce or undermine the supposed
logical underpinnings or reasoning you put forth here.
I'm of the belief that if a critical mass of voting Americans see that
the simple, logical sides of an issue presented to them are not in
agreement with political rhetoric and bullshit then they'll take
notice. The Assault Weapons Ban is complete and utter stupid bullshit
that somehow managed to get past and that Illinois' governer is now
trying to get passed again in his state (the bill is largely a copy of
the federal version that has since expired).
And yet, I notice you attempting to impose your own form of AWB by asserting
that certain weapons aren't "legitimate" for self defense.
But there are a lot of
reasons people vote-- the AWB being only one of many.
But your point seems to be my point. The people can have some sway on
elected officials-- even where that means electing new ones.
Yep, and yet I find that I am strangely unswayed by your rhetoric and
inconsistent arguments and position.
