We do not fail to protect our children in every regard in New Mexico...

Well, except for the fact that parents are allowed to put pools and
trampolines in their yards and allow their kids on, in or near them. With
pools causing far more childrens deaths than guns, you have to wonder why
people continue to allow such a murderous tool in any homeowners yard.

They even have public pools so those who cannot afford to kill their kids
in their own yard, can bring them elsewhere to kill them.

Imagine the outcry if cities had "public guns" for their citizens to use.

**In more enlightened nations, there are laws which force pool owners to
erect child-proof fences and gates around their pools, even if they have
no children. The penalties for non-compliance are harsh.

Could you provide us with the change in backyard pool child deaths from
drowning?

**Probably. However, your request is not relevant. I was merely showing that
more enlightened nations have ALREADY evaluated the risk to children of
backyard pools and have implemented laws to reduce the likelihood that
children can accidentally drown.

Can YOU see the value of child-proof fencing and gates around backyard
pools?
