Ironically, acetaminophen is so toxic relative to opiates that adding
it to an opiate typically drops the controlled-substance category from
schedule 2 to schedule 3. Reason is that the toxicity of
acetaminophen means the dose can only be escalated a little bit before
your liver gets wiped out.
