Dear folks, Ian Musgrave and I (one former and one everpresent
howler)
have a paper forthcoming in Biology and Philosophy on the evolution
of
genes by natural selection. It's semiphilosophical (the best kind of
philosophical to be) and coauthored by Clem Stanyon, a molecular
biologist.

So Stanyon's co-authorship exists to validate the scientific aspect?
Well, he started the discussions that resulted in the paper, but Ian is
a neuropharmacologist and I've published in science journals.
So much for "Philosophy is King."
Still jealous that John is able to pubish, and you can't?
How's your publications going, Ray?
John: My comments have been grossly misunderstood. Read correctly
these are compliments (badly stated). I was saying that you do not
need anyone else (especially a molecular biologist). You are well
known and have much respect. I think you agree that Philosophy is
King, not science. After all without philosophical elucidation
scientific evidence is neutral, if not meaningless.
Rubbish. Philosophy is ancillary and subsequent to science, which not
only gives us the knowledge but raises the problems philosophy must
discuss. Without science, philosophy is a purely social construction (as
theology is); without philosophy, science can get along quite well for a
long while (if only those scientists didn't insist upon doing philosophy
all the time!).
My publication (not publicationS) is going well. I have just finished
writing a crucial chapter that sets the stage for my refutation of
evolution. Again, I ceased making and announcing deadlines long ago.
But one day soon I will make the publication announcement.
I wait with baited... no I don't. I really don't care any more. You have
disappointed me all too often.
By the way, my next book is with Palgrave Macmillan on the philosophy of
natural classification. Just so you know.
And the check is in the mail...
We're from the Government, and we're here to help...
You know the rest.
