Authored by State Sen. Dennis Kruse, Senate Bill 89 would give school
districts the option on whether to allow creationism to be taught in
science class.

The state Senate approved an amendment to the Teaching of Origin of
Life bill Monday.

The amendment offered by State Sen. Vi Simpson (D-Bloomington) states
“the curriculum for the course must include theories from multiple
religions, which may include, but is not limited to, Christianity,
Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Scientology.”

Knowing Vi, she included this as an attempt to kill the bill by making it less palatable to the sponsors and, particularly, local school boards. She has to deal with a 2:1 dim-witted Republican majority in the Senate. That the Republican sponsor of the bill, Dennis Kruse of Auburn, agreed to her amendment shows he is clearly not competent to be the chair of the Senate [Mis-]Education Committee. Any school board stupid enough to *just* include the Christian myth rather than other myths is going to actually run afoul of the law if it passes.

Even the IDiots are not as stupid as the Chair of the Indiana [Mis-]Education Committee.
