Atheists are Mass Murderers Yet At Least One is in Heaven

For those who might not be following Ray Martinez very closely, he has made two off the wall assertions about atheists.

The first (May 28, 2:28 pm) is unsurprising, given Ray's past history of maligning atheists: http://groups.google.com/group/talk.origins/msg/996e42665c9155df

Atheists are thus shown to be a group that gives the finger to God. They are responsible for evil atrocities like mass murders. Atheists are evil people with hardened hearts that suffer the cloaking from God that Ray has demonstrated in the past quoting the Bible.

Yet Ray (May 28, 3:40 pm) utters this shocking gem: http://groups.google.com/group/talk.origins/msg/fa6bd0ec8dd2ba0b

[start Ray quote] I am NOT an admirer. I am a fanatical disciple. Rand is in heaven because she was a real scholar who guarded the truth in the face of all opposition and slander by the status quo. [end Ray quote]

Ayn Rand was an atheist, just like the murderous regimes that Ray talks about above, yet she is in heaven with Jesus, though she didn't accept him into her heart.

In just over an hour's time, Ray goes from tarring atheists as being responsible for mass murder to saying an atheist like Ayn Rand is in heaven because of her scholarship. I think this shows that any generalization Ray makes about atheists must be thrown out the window. By his own implication, atheists are capable of mass murder or of writing admirable works worthy of getting them into heaven. Atheists can be rabid collectivists who form murderous regimes or can be rabid individualists who decry those regimes. Ray has crashed and burned.
