That which is needful has been presented to this newsgroup.
Ron Wyatt is transparently a conman.
I believe that some, or perhaps even many, of Ron Wyatt's claims are
groundless, but his archeological findings in the Gulf of Aqaba and
in the mountains of Ararat are verifiable. (They also happen to be
Wyatt's first two Bible archeological projects, commencing in 1977.
In those days, he was for sure inspired.)
In one of my emails to Lorence Collins, a retired geologist, I wrote,
"in regard to Wyatt's claims, I don't know what to make of his claim
regarding the ark of the covenant." Dr. Collins replied on
Oct. 1, 2009, "Well, I am not going to touch this issue. It is
not my expertise, but others who knew Wyatt tell me that he found
what he wanted to see."
As Grant Jeffrey wrote, "Despite the natural human tendency to add
our own natural education and knowledge to what God tells us,
Moses resisted such temptations by writing exactly what God inspired
him to write as he composed the Torah." The Signature of God (1998),
pg. 168, ISBN 0-8499-4094-X.
True credibility lies only in the realm of Light, for a man of the
five carnal senses is truly converted, not by witnessing miracles,
but by the light of the Spirit of God shined upon and in him.
19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen
in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings,
and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.
-Revelation 11:19
Nevertheless, the late Ron Wyatt did correctly identify the remains
of Noah's ark in the mountains of Ararat. A most *timely* earthquake
in 1978 in that region of Turkey caused substantial debris to fall off
the main structure; this event made it possible for Ron Wyatt to
return multiple times to conduct verifications. I learned of Wyatt?s
findings in regard to Noah?s ark in 2003 or 2004 (I think the latter),
and subsequently the Holy Ghost witnessed to me of it.
On this date, June 9, 2009, I declare this the location of
Noah?s ark by constraint of the Spirit from earlier today, and
thus I do so in the name of Messiah, by virtue of the Holy Priesthood
of the Son of God vested in me. Amen. The Holy Ghost testified
to me that the Wyatt-identified structure is indeed the remains of
Noah's ark on other occasions, including recently this year, 2009.
"Believe it not!"
When the servants of God have proclaimed the truth
Satan has ever been ready to say,
"Believe it not!"
He has instilled into the minds of the children of men
hatred for the truth--that is, every one that has been
willing to listen to him. He has entered into them,
taken possession of their souls, and has used them
to accomplish his wicked purposes. He has done this through man.
He could not do it without he had some tabernacle to operate through.
(...) He was determined that God's work should not prosper
in the earth. He has determined that the children of men shall do
as he wishes. He has been angry from the beginning because
his plan was not adopted; because the Father did not see proper
to select him to save man without the exercise of man's agency;
because of this he has determined that he will destroy the work.
-George Q. Cannon, Journal of Discourses 26:252 (Oct. 18, 1884)
Brigham Young, JD, Vol. 6, pgs. 342,4-5 (July 31, 1859):
The kingdom of God circumscribes and comprehends
the municipal laws for the people in their outward government,
to which pertain the Gospel covenants, by which the people
can be saved; and those covenants pertain to fellowship and
faithfulness.
The Gospel covenants are for those who believe and obey;
municipal laws are for both Saint and sinner.
(...)
The municipal laws of that kingdom are designed for
the protection of all classes of people in their legitimate rights;
and were it now in its fulness upon the earth, and the
New Jerusalem built upon this continent, which is the land of Zion,
and Latter-day Saints would not alone enjoy its blessings, but
all denominations and communities would be alike protected
in their rights, whether they worshipped the Supreme Author of
our existence, or the sun, or the moon, or, as do
some of our aborigines, a white dog; and none will be permitted
to infringe upon their neighbours, though every knee shall bow and
every tongue confess that Jesus is the Christ.
George Q. Cannon, Collected Discourses, Vol. 3 (Sept. 24, 1893):
I rejoice exceedingly in our situation. We are a very imperfect
people. We have much to learn. But, as I said, God has revealed
some things to us, and we know they are true; and we can bring
all the science of the world to that standard which God has given
unto us. As I have told many of our young men when they have been
going to college, how valuable it is to know that these doctrines of
Darwin are incorrect, and that man has not come up from that
low condition, through thousands or millions of years, to his present
stature and reasoning faculties, etc. It is worth something to know
that, to begin with, and not spend time over it. So it is with many
things that are taught by scientific men. It gives the Latter-day
Saints an advantage over every other people and our young men will
make progress in science that will surprise the world because of this,
having certain fixed principles of truth to commence with which God
has revealed, and which they know are true. This is our condition
as an entire people. There are cartloads of books being written from
time to time to prove certain things that are not true. The Lord
having revealed to us the truth, and having His Spirit to enlighten
us, by which we can go to Him and ask concerning matters about which
we are ignorant, He will give us light and dispel darkness.
Ye that know the truth and persist in your fight
against the kingdom of God would do well to do the works
of the Apostle George Q. Cannon, saith the Lord.

Dr. Lorence Collins, who professes Christ and his teachings, is left
without excuse for his persistence in writing articles for publication
in advocacy of his unfounded belief that Noah's Deluge was not global,
and that theistic Evolution is a scientifically legitimate explanation
for the origin of life on the Earth, because, I informed him of his
grievous errors through correspondences with him
from late September to early October of 2009.
The Spirit also testified to me of the site where the Red Sea divided
(in the Gulf of Aqaba) for the sake of Israel guided by Moses,
during a prayer on Oct. 21, 2009, and again on Oct. 23, 2009,
while writing a Usenet post to alt.religion.mormon. Chariot wheels
and human bones have been found on the sea floor of that portion of
the Gulf of Aqaba of the Red Sea.
It is not surprising that most professional scientists who are
aware of Ron Wyatt deny the incontrovertible portion of his
Bible archeological works, for it was prophesied thus, concerning
these and other things:
Go and tell this people?
Hear ye indeed, but they understood not;
and see ye indeed, but they perceived not.
-2 Nephi 16:9 (cf. Isaiah 6:9)
Ezekiel 12:1-2
The word of the LORD also came unto me, saying,
Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of a rebellious house,
which have eyes to see, and see not;
they have ears to hear, and hear not:
for they [are] a rebellious house.
George Gerster is apparently a respected aerial photographer, but his
Wiki entry says nothing about the tower of babel. I suspect that he
took a picture of some ancient structure and loons got excited about
it.

The above is erroneously referred by the book reviewer as a photo of
the tower of Babel. The actual 1973 photograph taken by the same Georg
Gerster, of the enormous remains of the foundations of the
tower of Babel in *Iraq*, was shown throughout the 2008-09 exhibit
at the British Museum, as also reported by The Guardian, and quoted in
my previous post in this thread. _The Past from Above_ is an English
translation from the original German, which is available from

The foregoing jpg file, which is the image of the cover of the
original German publication, appears to be a photo of the ziggurat
in Iran erroneously called "the Tower of Babel" in the said
4 March 2006 article in The Guardian. Maybe. But the cover photo of
the English translation, _The Past from Above_, is different, that of
a site of the Greek antiquity.
At the end of the show, the damage done to the archaeological
site in the Iraq war is documented. The British Museum protested at
the use of the site for a military base - the helicopters landing in
the middle of such a precious site, the soldiers vandalising it in
search of souvenirs. The images are chilling, as eerie and apocalyptic
as anything in the show.

Tower of Babel?s foundations photo of 1973, where is it?

I am pointing out that the image of the 1973 aerial photo of the
remaining tower foundations in *Iraq* should be made freely available,
as are the Wyatt photos of the Noah's ark site and the photos and
videos of the Gulf of Aqaba chariot wheels, etc.
