Curious to what you guys think the gravatational forces of this event
could mean. Could it rip off the magnectic sheild? Toss the oceans
around the globe? Or do you believe absolutley nothing related will
occur.

Do any creationist believe it will be the second coming of Christ?

Even if there is some kind of galactic alignment in some year, IIRC
gravitational forces are a product of 1/d^2, where d=the distance of
the two bodies.

Do you seriously think bodies separated by hundreds of light years are
going to exert significant gravitational forces on one another?

When one of them is several hundred billion solar masses, yes. And
across thousands to millions of light years.

Naturally, however, there is no such alignment coming. Not least,
it would be impossible for it to happen (much less for one particular
day to be so much better aligned than any other day). The plane
of the solar system is inclined by about 60 degrees with respect to
the galactic center. That's why the Milky Way is not in the plane
of the ecliptic (path the sun, moon, planets take through the sky).
Even if the planets were to 'line up' (whatever that meant, and the
'alignment' in the 1980s, that occasioned _The Jupiter Effect_ was
better, though still poor), they don't line up pointing at the galactic
center, instead being aimed wrong by those 60 degrees.
