Had you read Dennis R. Jenkins' excellent book Space Shuttle:
The History of the National Space Transportation System The First
100 Missions, 3rd Edition, you would have had the knowledge with
which to understand the context of the X-20 in the lineage of the
technology that eventually led to the Shuttle.

To claim that the Shuttle is the X-20 "revamped" would be to
say that the Boeing 777 is just the DC-3 "revamped"...

Well, more like the Boeing 747 is just the English Electric Lightning
revamped, to be consistent with dates and sizes. The X-20 would have
carried two people and no cargo.
