It is not the Bible, but your heretical interpretation of it that is
rejected. Oddly, the more militant atheists accept that your
misinterpretation is correct and use that as grounds to reject the Bible

Dawkins is a real atheist. But creationists are rarely real Christians.
They are, instead, members of a Satanic hate cult.

They are very selective in the parts of the Bible they actually believe.
The part that says, "Thou shalt not bear false witness" they do not
believe.

I have seen Dawkins make some very illogical arguments about religion,
but I have never seen him lie about science. Creationist apologists do
that all the time as a matter of policy. They are not deemed heretics
for taking Genesis literally. They are heretics because they lie about
science (and about why they don't accept evolution). They are heretics
because they suborn sin in their followers.

That's heresy by definitions older than Christianity that the Church has
always accepted. When you are ready to confess and repent your sins of
false witness, God stands ready to forgive and accept you back into the
communion of saints. But, until that happens, you stand outside in the
darkness, cursing the light.
