Billy was a hardworking, clever, generous, funny, and HONEST man.
MUCH OF THE STUFF HE SOLD WAS CRAP OR GREATLY OVERPRICED.

AND YES I AM YELLING.

When I called to take advantage of what sounded too good to pass up,
along with a free gift, my card was immediately taken, then sales push
for enless unrelated items ensued, which had to be met with a "yes" or
"no". After maybe a dozen "no"s I just gave up and wondered whether
the card would be charged and I would get the product, with the gift.
The card was charged and I got the product, but not the gift.
Dishonest tactics. Later I saw the same product at Walmart for less,
with no shipping charge. "Honest" is not how I would characterize
Mays.

Are you sure it was Mays? Vince Shlomi, the ShamWow guy, was notorious
for not including the "gifts". Also, the bonus items sometime contain a
seperate "shipping and processing" fee that has to be paid extra.
Anyway, what I meant by honest was that he tried the products and
believed they worked well, and he did not fake his ads.

Bull***, he was a pitchman, and glorified his products. Yes, it was
Mays. And now that you mention it, I had no idea what they were going
to charge in shipping until they had taken my card number - that's the
first thing they asked for. Also I found out later that had I waited
thru all the sales pitches for the other nonrelated items they tried
to add, and "authorized" the "free gift", I would have been charged a
high shipping price for it.
On top of this, there are many complaints about the products as well
as the sales methods. Some were pure junk that cost tons, to put it in
a nutshell. The "awesome auger" and "free" drill is a good example.
Digs thru rock hard clay, digs post holes?? With a cheap ass drill
that would cost you more in shipping than at the store, and a piece of
*** "razor sharp" tent stake that would strip in the drill bit?

"But a Google search and check of Better Business Bureau files reveals
hundreds of complaints from other consumers whose $19 auger turned
into a frustrating expense. Angela says all she got was "a headache
for $140."
