Not quite. The Earth accelerates toward the position the Sun will
be in a few hundredths of a nanosecond.

propagates by the speed of light, but with an anticipation based on
velocity and acceleration that is instantaneous. So the law that
nothing travels faster than light is not violated, but there is an
instantaneous relationship nevertheless.
No, it's not an instantaneous relationship. If the Sun were to somehow
suddenly change its course, the Earth would continue to accelerate
toward its pre-change "extrapolated" position for about eight minutes,
and then abruptly change its acceleration to point close to the true
position of the Sun.
