devised his equations. At that time he would have believed light to
consist of waves in ether.

Only particles whose rest mass is zero can travel at c. They are not
massless when they are moving and don't exist when they are not.

Einstein was right.
But to be bend from the straight line light quanta
must have a mass.

cinci: Not necessarily. Gravity is believed to warp spacetime and
light travels and other particles will travel paths according to this
curvature. I believe if you treat light as photons and calculate
deflections based only on gravitational attaction of the mass of the
photons yo will not get teh correct answer.

with constant speed c=1 its mass become infinite.
That is impossible.

according to this equaiton m = m0/(1 - (v/c)^2)^.5. "m" approachess
infinity as v approaches c. But m0 for a photon is zero. Photons are
creaed going at c so no mass is accelerated.

cinci: If you take a ray of light and split it in half, then spelit
one of the halves in half and continue this process, at some point you
will find it impossible to divide the light into anything smaller.
What youhave at that point is a quantum of light.

cinci: If you set up an experiment to determine the wave properties of
light you will get results consistent with waves. If you set up an
experiment that tests the particle characteristics of light you will
get results consistent with particles. There is no answer to whether
light is particles or waves. In actuality we don't have a physical
description of light....we know a lot about how it acts but that
knowledge doesn't tell us what structure (configuration?) of light is.
Not particularly satisfying but I recently read a whole book on that
issue and it concluded there is no answer. We know is the "rules of
the road" with light but we can't tell you what it looks like.
