Imagination inspired science.

Who is gullible? I'm not taking anyone's word for anything. Everything I

or shoddy thinking.

What's wrong with my thinking?

imaginationi consists in abandoning beliefs that are not real.

I have no problem with that. That's what life is about.

and creationists haven't done that.

You blanket different types of creationists into one huge lump. You not
only stereotype, you use the "creationist" brand name to classify anyone
who believes the universe has a creator, no matter how old anybody thinks
the universe is. I believe in 13.7 billion years, but other alternatives
wouldn't surprise me.

they insist their demons, ghost and goblins are real.

You can be a creationist and not believe in goblins. Why do you think a
creationist believes in goblins?

I wouldn't say it's useless, and I don't think it should be discarded
in favor of using ONLY experimentation and nothing else to figure out
reality.

sorry. that's the way reality works. what you believe is irrelevant.

I believe my intuition and conclusions affect how I perceive reality, and
I also believe we, as humans, have the ability to understand each other
through communication. That is my rebuttal to your idea that imagination
is useless and irrelevant to reality. I believe that the things I imagine
in my own mind affect how I perceive the world. And you say it's
irrelevant. Now what is it irrelevant to? And why did you apologize to
me before you said it?

some beliefs really are provably wrong. creationism is such an idea

Nobody has proven creation wrong. +AKA-They just discovered a method to
explain it. +AKA-Science.

creationism has been proven wrong. the universe is not 6000 years old.

I never said that to be created, the universe must be 6,000 years old. I
don't believe that. If the universe is only 6,000 years old, I could just
as easily come up with evidence and reasoning that it's only 39 years old
and started with my own birth. But since all this evidence is here of all
these things that happened before I came here, the evidence suggests to me
that the universe is 13.7 billion years old. And I trust that scientists
would not lie to us on this. It's a logical story based on the various
models I juggle in my mind, and evidence is all over the place as to its
truth.

As for the historical accuracy of the Bible, remember that these were the
first, crudest attempts at recording history after writing was developed.
That we don't have such detailed records of history as to know the precise
bloodline of Jesus with evidence doesn't mean he didn't exist. It simply
means the evidence is so old that it's hard to find anything that hasn't
been lost. But enough evidence remains to draw conclusions that he could
have existed.

But whether he did or didn't makes no difference now because it happened
so long ago. The stories are inspiring for some people. For those who
dream of living forever, Jesus becomes their Santa Claus, and the things
they do to try to be good enough to live forever result in people who
behave themselves for the most part.

My version of creationism does not change the age of the universe at all.
IN my view, it's 13.7 billion years old. I even included in one model a
dual-universe creation, the first created whole, compressed, then exploded
into this one. But it doesn't matter, either way. It all happened so long
ago that any mythology you want to create about it must come from
imagination. Once you consider all the options based on what you have
learned and what you're able to imagine, the most likely story surfaces
through our own ability to solve mysteries.

evolution is a fact, regardless of your post modernist thinking

Evolution works in the methods we use to solve problems, too. I like to
think of the brain as a swiss army knife. You can use your brain for sex,
for solving problems, or for playing video games. I even play racing
games with the intent of exercising my reflexes, focusing, and
concentration skills. It seems to work. The more I do something with the
intent of improving myself, the more that mindset works to improve my
mental function.
