There is an item from Rice University about a study by a
sociologist - here is a bit of the release that may be of
interest to t.o denizens:
"Ecklund recently conducted in-depth interviews with 300
scientists and completed a survey of nearly 1,700 scientists
on their views on science and religion."
"Among all the scientists Ecklund interviewed, including
religious and nonreligious, there was not one who thought
Intelligent Design should be taught alongside evolution in a
biology classroom"

This is very humorous:
"At issue is whether a teacher should raise doubts about evolution
when teaching biology and other science classes."
Teaches in Texas should also raise doubts about snow when teaching
climatology and other science classes. And certainly doubts about
the Dirt Theory of geology should also be raised.
I lived in Baja for a while and it took a while for the kids to realize I
was *not* making snow up. Most of them had only seen rain a few times.
I was on vacation in the Dominican Republic and I met a lady from
Venezuela. She found out I was from Colorado and said she had never
seen snow before. She then asked me if snow flakes hurt when they hit
you on the head. I realized she was serious, on both points.
