A funny quote: "... he made (Sara) Palin look smart."

And:

"If Yellowstone goes, most of the midwest would be unlivable and
the effects would be felt globally. Mass famine and death would
result. Maybe Jindal is right, we don't need to monitor anything
that dangerous. Just like we ignore hurricanes. What's the worst
that could happen?"

Placing politics aside for the moment, exactly what do you think
monitoring such a thing as Yellowstone would achieve?

1 - Knowledge.

2 - What science has learned from studying volcanoes has helped save
people's lives.

There is no way you can stop it
should it erupt. Alerting people of the danger will not give them
time to run. There would be no place to run to anyway.

Alerting people and their governments to potential danger can help
them plan and prepare effective strategies for mitigating the
effects on the population.

Would you prefer ignorance?

I perfer not causing mass panic and riots

And Jindal is quite correct, if Yellowstone goes, most of the
Midwest would be unlivable and the effects would be felt globally.
Mass famine and death would indeed be the end result.

And guess what. There is not one thing your can do to stop it.

Except learn to pray and respect your creator. Because the book of
revelation has 1/3 of the earth being destroyed by such disasters
during the end times. An event such as Yellowstone would qualify as
such and fulfill the revelation prophesy.

People said the same thing when 1/3 of Europeans died during the
Black Death.  The end times didn't happen then either.

BTW, We just might be living in those end times today. This is
according to the parable of the fig tree that Jesus said to learn
when he was describing what things will be like at the end of time
as we know it. Which is also, BTW,  the /only/ parable Jesus said
to "learn".

It fits with the arrogance of some theists that the end times *must*
happen during their lifetime.  People have been predicting it for
2,000 years.  Yawn.

I supose that reading disorder gives you real trouble at times.

What part of "We just *might* be living in those end times..." was
so hard for ya?

When The Jews re-entered the temple and reformed as a state in 1948
the fig tree parable was fulfilled. And the world has been tense
ever since.

I would say the train of prophesy is rolling down the track. And ya
know what? There is not a lot that can be done to stop such a large
train except brace for the impact.

Fear-mongering is a pretty negative way to "spread the word."

Since when is truth to be feared?

Are you Sacred i'm right perhaps?

Yeah, he's Sacred(sic).

You're never right.

Keep that head in the sand-

Oh my. The irony of that statemnent needs to be savored for the
moment............

(.........savoring irony.......)

....Now, the pointing and laughing...

You retarded jackass! You wretched ignorant fool. You unparalled
idiot. If I tried to imagine what deptsh of stupidity you would come
up with as a reply to that post, I would not have thought that you
could possibly be as mind boigglingly stupid as to attempt to make
your point by saying, "Keep that head in the sand" when you are the
ignorant twit who is defending another ignorant twit, who does not
think it's worth while to monitor and study volcanic activity around
YNP, expecially since there is evidence that there has been an
increase in activity! over the past ten to fifteen years, because if
it's going to erupt, there's no way to stop it.

Dip***!

Moron!

Ignorant hick!

Mindless fool!

That stance is *exactly* as stupid and braindead as saying "why bother
studying tropical depressions? If it's going to turn into a tropical
storm, and then a hurricane, we can't stop it, so why bother? The
same goes for tracking it. If it's going to hit "my city", we can't
stop it, so why bother?"

It is *exactly* as stupid
