Probably because, being sane, they don't try to use
mathematics to deny what they can see happening
right in front of their eyes, in the lab and in the
field.
You try to deny that first person evidence for them
while ignoring for yourself that said evidence makes
all of your mathematical exercises merely exercises
in applied lunacy.

Though they do know enough about math and physics to
teach biologists new tools for their toolkits for
doing biology.

I just think it is flat out hilarious that a
supposedly intelligent and educated human being can
let himself be sold a bill of goods by a church
entirely disconnected with reality, and be suckered
into adopting that stance for life himself.
That just goes to show what a deadly disease of the
mind theism can be.
The long term effect of Sean Pitman's bogus math
work on behalf of his church will be to warn sane
people to give that church wide berth as a hotbed of
bestowing mental illness.
