It is NOT just evolution that students are forbidden to critically analyze.
It is everything. Students today are leaving schools with ZERO critical
thinking skills. They question nothing. And they assume information in the
books they read are accurate without question. This has been the downfall of
many societies in history. In fact, the best way to brainwash a society is
with books. Books that have only one point of view in them.

Critical thinking skills? You want to improve other people's critical
thinking skills? You, who can't tell the root from the crown of a
tyrannosaur tooth even when the parts are pointed out to you? You who
looked at a history of Charles Darwin's life and decided that it said
he was a serial dog killer? For you, critical thinking means looking
at everything from a single point of view, unsupported by data, and
trying to interpret the information in a way that will give you
creationist talking points. It very seriously hampers your reading and
thinking skills. It's not a good way to learn about the natural world.

On the other hand, it *does* take skill to create a persona as
convincingly stupid as "\(M\)-adman." I have to admit that the dog
killer thing is classic. It would be more impressive, though, if the
persona could graduate to more clever and rational claims.
