According to many evolutionists, EVERY single one of these independent
creation stories i will present below are wrong.
Not every one. Just most of them.
All of these stories have two things in common. (1)A creator, that (2)
made a creation.
That's actually one thing.
And you should also note what they do *not* have in common: A lone
creator of everything.
All of these stories meet on some common grounds. Two of them I mention
above, plus things like good and evil, man rebelling, twin children, a
tree, a garden of some type, animals, flaming sword, water, mud,
heavens, etc etc etc.
Gardens are not particularly common, and flaming swords even less so, in
world mythology. Perhaps the most common is a solid firmament above the
sky.
List as follows:
The great Father of All Spirits was the only one awake. (single creator)
Australian Aborigine Creation Myth
"Typically, the Wulamba people of northeastern Arnhem Land on the
northern tip of the continent recall the wondrous Djanggawul beings
(Djanggawul and his two sisters), endlessly fertile and creative, who
wandered over the earth creating plants, animals, and finally ancestors
of the Aborigines."
(Sproul, _Primal Myths_ (HarperSanFrancisco: 1991), 315.)
Some Australian myths could be described as having a single creator.
Many are more like the above, however.
A single creation, Uranus and Gaia or adam/eve(single creator) He told
them to go to Earth and create men and animals and give them each a
gift. --greek
I invite people to read Hesiod's "Theogeny", widely available, to see for
themselves if that is an accurate summary.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.(single creator)
--hebrew
Yes, that is one monotheistic creation.
People did not always live on the surface of the earth (souls in heaven)
the Great Master and Lord of All Life (single creator)
--african
In Africa, it is common that there is a supreme god, but that humans and
earth were not created at all. They have always existed, though humans
originally lived in the sky, underground, or in the water.
Pan Gu created earth and the heavens (single creator) --chineese (this
is not the oldest chineese creation story)
Pan Gu himself, along with the universe, appeared without creation. "At
first there was nothing. Time passed and nothing became something. Time
passed and something split in two: male and female. These two produced
two more, and these two produced P'an Ku, the first being, the Great Man,
the Creator." (Sproul, p. 201)
from this mound that the Creator fashioned the first of the people.
(single creator)
- Choctaw
the Great Spirit collected swirls of dust from the four directions in
order to create the Comanche people.(single creator using dust)
--Comanche
These may be accurate.
Long before the world was created(single creator)
Iroquois Creation Myth
"In the beginning there was nothing but water, a wide sea. . ." A woman
fell down from the upper world. Two loons caught her and placed her on
the back of the tortoise. They decided that she must have earth to live
on. Many animals dived to bring up some earth; toad succeeded. The
earth was placed on the tortoise's shell and expanded, creating the
earth.
When Tu-chai-pai made the world,(single creator) -- Digueno
But did he create people, too? Often it is coyote who creates people.
Then the Divine Self-existent, himself (sometimes called Bramah, or
Atman)indiscernible but making all this, the great elements and the
rest, discernible, appeared with irresistible power, dispelling the
darkness. (single creator) As you can see, hindu was not polytheistic in
the begining. Indians have personal gods with a main creator God.
--Hindu
The Hindus also speak of uncreated origins: "In the beginning this
universe was water, nothing but a sea of water. The waters desired, 'How
can we be reproduced?' They toiled and performed fervid devotions, when
they were becoming heated, a golden egg was produced. ... In a year's
time a man, this Prajapati, was produced therefrom..." (Sproul, 184)
A muddy sea that covered the entire earth was created it was transformed
into a god(that created everything else) (god entering natural realm)
and the spirit of the lord fluttered over the waters. --japan
"Heaven and Earth first parted, and the Three Deities performed the
commencement of creation; the Passive and Active Essences then developed,
and the Two Spirits [Izanami, the creatrix, and Izanagi, the creator]
became the ancestors of all things." (Sproul, 210, quoting the Kojiki)
I don't have the time or inclination to cover the whole list. To anyone
who is interested in seeing a representative sample of the world's
creation myths, I recommend Barbara Sproul's _Primal Myths_. You will
see that the idea of a single creator which creates everything is far
from universal.

the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are
being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and
exposing the country to danger." -- Hermann Goering
