because that is what the evidence shows. Why, you ask? I guess that how
HE wanted it. :-P
Seriously though, the genetic evidence alone blows me away. For
instance, a while back on the Science Channel or some *** they said
humans are so similar to chimpanzees we could have a blood transfusion
from them.
Here look yourself.

Truth speaks for itself!
I note two things from your link.
1. It is a story from the New York Post. It's a rag, and often
publishes trash. It's not quite at the level of the National Enquirer,
but it's not far off.
2. The story is from 2000. Have you heard of anything more recent?
In this case, though, I retract calling you a liar.
Besides, even if the story is true, it doesn't make a case against the
genetic evidence. Note that in order to allow a pig's blood transfusion,
the doctor in question allegedly had to use some fancy
immuno-suppressive drug. That's because pigs have quite different blood
antigens from humans (and chimps). As usual, Spintronic doesn't know
either what he's talking about or what he's reading.
From what the article said, it seemed as though he had some kind of_antigen_ suppressive therapy, rather than immunosuppressive. If
that's the case, it's a major breakthrough, and I would have expected
to have heard something more about it by now, patent or not. Can you
imagine being able to just add a couple cc's of some antigen-
suppressive agent to donated blood, and then be able to transfuse
anyone? That's not to mention lung, liver, and heart transplants. And
you're correct, spamtronic knows not of what he speaks.
