Okay, let's discard cause and effect in the conventional sense - but
let's not then say there are no, or only arbitrary, rules at the core
of existence. There's a mystery to matter. Maybe that mystery answers
the questions I originally asked in this posting: how come five times
in a row an amorphous, or even chaotic, situation eventually gave rise
to a productive or orderly outcome?
You might want to google 'post hoc, ergo propter hoc'

No, Manus. I say there's a mystery to matter. I then speculate that
this mystery may hold the key to the suspiciously perfect form of
existence - energy, chaotic universe, regulated universe, a vehicle
for discovery(life), a creature who discovered (us!). It's all a
wanton speculation, a playful toying with the mysteries of existence.
We do that all the time in Dublin, Manus. None of the grim fatalism of
Donegal down here!, For example,WE'RE not afraid of Armageddon in 7
days; WE'RE even prepared to tempt fate by archiving our postings.
