Re: Texas: Chris Comer files suit

Here is Comer's court filing. It contains some interesting
details on her dismissal. The grounds for dismissal apparently
included other issues besides the email message she sent
notifying people about the meeting critical of creationism.
Her resignation was not voluntary: she would have been
dismissed if she hadn't resigned. One of the bases of her
suit is that she was not informed of her rights to a hearing
in advance of her dismissal.

Gotta go,
Cabbage

Gee, wonder if this might have a chilling effect on science teaching in
Texas, which may very well be the intent of certain factions in the
Texas BOE. One of the documents filed by Plaintiffs is the copy of a
newspaper story wrt teaching the "strengths & weaknesses", which is
apparently already in Texas standards (!?), and that there is an almost
majority of creationists (one vote short) on the BOE.

Not sure how strong the case really is, but I wish her all luck. It
looks like she really was hounded out of office for her support of
teaching evolution.
