Re: Lack of evolution (computers and living things)

This has got to be the Straw Man of the month if not the year.
Pick 4 software simulations of some aspect(s) of evolution, show that they
don't accurately mimic evolution, claim that they ought to (without any
justification), then claim this failure proves evolution doesn't happen.
Extraordinary!
What's extraordinary is that no computer program has simulated the
effect of random mutation and function-based selection producing
higher and higher level systems of function significantly beyond the
functional complexity the computer program started out with. Novel
functionally beneficial meaningful information simply is not produced
in this manner beyond very low levels of functional complexity - to
include computer simulations and in living things. [...]
We are still using wind tunnels because we can't even simulate simple
air molecules acting on an aerodynamic object to everyones complete
satisfaction. You want to simulate one of the most extremely slow and
extremely complex processes known to man.

Simulating random mutations is very easy to achieve in computer
programs. Likewise, function-based selection does not need to be
simulated at all. It can be directly employed.

If it's so easy, do it. I haven't seen it done, nor have I heard of anybody doing it.
