He who uses the roads should pay for their upkeep. And we have such a system. It is called the gasoline for fuel tax. Those who take motor vehicles out on the road pay for their upkeep by a tax on each gallon of fuel purchased. He who does not take cars or trucks out on the road does not pay.

He who has children has the burden of schooling them. What about the folks who have no children in the public schools. Should they pay the freight from those who have children in the public schools?

Those who do not have children benefit from schools in many ways, most notably that an educated society is far better than the alternative.
