Why is he then using Darwin's label.http://scratchpad.wikia.com/wiki/WilliamProvinePragmatics

In any event, nobody claimed it was literally a force.

That is what Darwin claimed for some yet to be defined process that is
a "...force incessantly ready of action....." and satisfaction which
he
labeled natural selection. What is this process "..ready for
action..." ? What Provine is saying is tantamount to saying that
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phlogiston doesn't mean what Wikipedia
says it means as defined by the author back then. What Provine should
do is together with Chomsky and Fodor come out of the closet and admit
it: Darwin spoke complete rubbish - there is no such thing as a
natural selection. But this undefined concept labeled NS is official
US government sanctioned religion, it is unbelievable what is going
on , nobody know s what a natural selection is but all scientists are
forced to says NS or their papers don't get published.
