"1000aa threshold" - a magic number beyond which evolution can't
happen
"answer" - evasion
"average minimum gap size" - maximum gap size
"catastrophic fossilisation" - fossilisation by an unknown and
unspecific process as a consequence of an unspecified catastrophic
event but which proves that there was a global flood.
"change topic" - try to get a straight answer
"common design" - the concept that the work of a designer would
produce a nested hierarchy indistinguishable from that produced by
evolutionary processes.
"convincing" - supporting Pitman's beliefs
"deliberate process" - magic
"discuss extensively" - ignore
"evidence" - anything Pitman says
"fact" - unfounded assertion
"fairly specified" - an quantity which cannot be measured but is used
in Pitmathematics
"fairly specified amino acid residues" - a concept which cannot be
described mathematically, but which Pitman can recognise intuitively.
"falsification" - 1. (when applied to Pitman theories) A method
whereby assertions are confirmed by a priori knowledge of the
evidence. 2. (when applied to evolutionary theory by others) A process
which only yields unreliable results.
"function" - structure, sequence specificity
"high degree of predictive value" - guess
"higher level information" - magic
"higher-level system" - any system whose evolution cannot be directly
observed. If such a system is observed, it cannot be a higher-level
system.
"hypothesis" - unfounded assertion
"inference" - unsupported assertion
"intuitive" - anything Pitman says is true
"intuitively obvious" - unfounded assertion
"mainstream scientists" - scientists
"mathematics" - guesswork
"minimum structural threshold limitations" - something which cannot be
measured but is whatever Pitman says it is.
"mistaken" - raising a point Pitman will evade
"necessity" - assertion
"non-deliberate mindless natural process" - science
"notion" - the conclusions reached by generations of scientists who
have carried out research in a subject area, which is the best
explanation for all the evidence and which has been exhaustively
tested by gathering more evidence.
"novel systems of function" - anything whose evolution cannot be
observed directly.
"real life" - whatever Pitman says it is.
"reasonable first approximation" - guess
"science" - anything Pitman asserts is science
"sequence specificity" - function, structure
"sequence/structure space" - a term whose meaning eludes Pitman, but
whose use makes his pontifications sound authoritative.
"statistics" - guesswork
"structure" - function, sequence specificity
"theory" - unfounded assertion
"unconvincing" - demonstrating that Pitman's beliefs are false
