Well, I'll be. Funny how I can post on talk.origins and it'll be
posted instantly. I posted just a minute ago and it's not on
talk.origins yet.
Google Groups is on a delay if you haven't been whitelisted.
I have to manually approve people. But you would have known that
if you read talk.origins.
Subsequent postings should avoid the spamtrap, put in place to
block the endless rounds of shoe ads posted from Google.
Google Groups is a shithole and should be booted from USENET.

However, there are times when I can only use Google Groups for
posting. For instance, I am currently attending a conference, and do
not have access to my Road Runner Hawaii account. Other times, the
news server at Road Runner Hawaii has been down, or extremely slow in
showing posts. Sorry, David, but there are people who have no choice,
and times when the rest of us have no choice about whether or not to
use Google Groups.
The problem is that Google is not keeping it's end up. In days past, when a
news server became a major problem for spreading spam, for unauthorized
cancels and the like, they were given some time to fix it, but if they
didn't solve their problems, news admins would start blacklisting them,
refusing to propagate their messages.
I think the time is coming rapidly when that's precisely what should be done
with Google groups. Perhaps a few weeks plunged into the Outer Darkness
would convince Google to clean up its act.
have no choice but to use Google Groups.
