What is perhaps surprising is that substantial minorities in
America apparently believe in ghosts, UFOs, witches, astrology
and reincarnation.

The survey, which has a sampling error of plus or minus two percent,
found that 35 percent of the respondents believed in UFOs and 31
percent in witches.

Believing in Witches is like believing in Catholics: Wicca is a
thriving religion.

Same for believing in saints: Mormonism is a thriving religion.

One religion that doesn't appear to be fairing too well is Atheism.

Which isn't a problem, since atheism (notice that no capital "A" is
required) isn't a religion in any sense of the word, merely a lack of
belief in gods.

Oddly enough, atheism is, by all accounts, growing in the U.S. I
don't think that's because there are more atheists than there were
before. I think that the numbers have changed because a whole
shitload of us came out of the closet and said, "Yeah, I'm an atheist,
you wanna make somethin' of it?"
